Bribery and Corruption Policy

Capago is committed to conducting all aspects of its business with integrity in the various regions within which it operates. Integrity entails doing business in an honest, ethical, fair and transparent manner in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and contractual requirements.
Capago realises that bribery and corruption undermines a culture of trust and creates an unstable operating environment for the company which negatively impacts on fair business practice. As part of Capago’s commitment in conducting business with Integrity; there is a zero tolerance stance to bribery and corruption. This zero tolerance stance applies to all business activities within any country where Capago conducts business.
The purpose of this policy is to allow all visa applicants and all third parties to have a dedicated communication channel to report any cases of unethical behaviour, fraud, bribery or corruption.
This page is intended to be used by both internal and external parties.
Capago as a group is operating in various countries and remains committed to conducting all our business operations with the highest degree of integrity. Therefore in implementing this policy we commit to:
  • Having a zero tolerance approach to bribery and corruption ;
  • Uphold all laws and regulations countering bribery and corruption ;
  • Implement and have a safe and easily accessible reporting mechanism in place where concerns on bribery and corruption can be reported ;
  • Act swiftly by thoroughly investigating and reporting all incidents of bribery and corruption ;
  • Provide protection for whistleblowers by ensuring confidentiality and acting against anyone who victimises such whistleblowers for making reports ;
  • Proactively understand and manage the risk of bribery and corruption within the business operations.
Capago is committed to taking strong measures to prevent and detect corruption within its business. All clientele and employees are encouraged to report suspicions of bribery and corruption or seek advice on issues regarding bribery and corruption from the management of Capago.
Capago is obligated to report the possibility of any suspicious activity on our websites, within our branches and anywhere where it is applicable or relevant. Any internal or external personal found tampering with signage promoting the whistleblower policy will commit a punishable offence and as such will go under a disciplinary procedure as per the catalogue of offences.
The Capago bribery reporting policy provides all whistleblowers with protection for reporting allegations of bribery and corruption. Capago will take steps to maintain the confidentiality of whistleblowers and will not tolerate any victimisation or recrimination against whistleblowers.
Capago is committed to investigate all allegations of bribery and corruption in an independant and objective manner. Investigation is a structured process which is focused on the gathering of sufficient reliable information to enable an investigator to either prove or disprove allegations received. The results of such an investigation will dictate further actions.
Capago will commit to allocate all resources required during the investigation stage. The investigation stage will include the allocated investigative team, top management and any party whom Capago deems as relevant during the investigation. All aspects will be investigated thoroughly through this joint procedure.
The investigation stage will not be put on hold or stopped until a result is produced. The total period of this stage should be completed within 30 working days unless there is an outcome which needs further investigation. Capago holds all rights to the timeframe and procedures in the event of an investigation and further investigation.
In order for Capago to launch an investigation on bribery and corruption the following information will be useful:
  • Location of where the incident took place ;
  • The date the incident occured ;
  • Detailed description of what happened ;
  • Name or description of person involved ;
  • Role of person involved ;
  • Evidence or information to support the reporting (if available).
It is important to provide as much detail and information as possible as this will assist the investigation process. The whistleblower can enquire about the status of a disclosure at any time and request feedback, as well as provide additional information and/or evidence.
